London-based designer Ilse Crawford has announced a new long-term collaboration with IKEA, following the success of their first SINNERLIG collection in 2015.

The recent partnership is a curation of beautifully timeless and smart accessories that will contribute to a ‘better everyday life for the many’– built from shared values and a passion for design.

Launching in October 2021, Ilse’s designs epitomize a minimalist A/W aesthetic whilst celebrating life’s daily rituals. We expect these pieces will accentuate our everyday life by making a statement when paired alongside our favorite Scandi-cool staples and IKEA hacks

‘In all our projects, it is the top layer that makes a place feel special. A vase for everyday life that helps present flowers in an attractive way. Candle holders [that are] beautiful enough to keep. And tactile plant pots that will hopefully become the new essential,’ Ilse Crawford explains.

‘When we design for the home, we focus on giving extra care and attention to our everyday activities, no matter how small. We obsess about materiality and tactility. And creating things so appealing you wouldn’t want to throw them away,’ she adds.

What else can we expect from the rejuvenated SINNERLIG collection? If it is anything like the first, we anticipate at least one staple piece to follow in the footsteps of the pendant lamp that remains a popular icon years after its release.

Alongside this timeless living room lighting idea, initial highlights include the ÄROFULL Tealight holders (above) and the monochromatic BEHJÄRTAD Scented candle (below).

However, in contrast to the first limited collection, this time around, Ilse and her studio team are collaborating on a long-term basis, with new products coming to the IKEA range over the next couple of years.

‘One of the focus areas for Ilse Crawford and IKEA will be home accessories – the small ingredients of life at home that turn four walls into an individual comfort zone and can magically transform every space – every day and everywhere, no matter where in the world,’ explains Range and Design Leader at IKEA of Sweden, Karin Gustavsson.

She continues: ‘Ilse Crawford’s design principles, her values, and aesthetics are a perfect match to the IKEA vision to create a better everyday life for the many people through meaningful and beautiful home accessories.’

This collaboration is the modern home decor idea of the fall, and our homes are very excited. Ilse and IKEA, we owe you.
