IKEA has revealed their much-loved real Christmas tree offer has returned for the tenth year, and it's celebrating double digits in style.

The offer that is available at participating IKEA stores in the UK until 23rd December (or until stocks last) allows you to pick up a real fir tree for only £9 – yes, really. But what does this Christmas decorating idea involve?

Once you purchase a real fir tree for £29, IKEA gifts you with a £20 voucher that you can then spend on new homewares in 2022. And, with a lust-list of gorgeous IKEA hacks to choose from, this deal will bless your home long after the holidays conclude.

'Over the festive season, a beautifully decorated tree can become a focal point of any space,' says Anna Liakh, the Commercial Activities Leader, IKEA UK, and Ireland. 'We're really happy to be bringing back IKEA's real Christmas trees for another year, offering affordable, high-quality trees for customers to enjoy.'

While natural trees come with the worry that they will wilt before the 25th, IKEA have you covered here too. In a bid to maximize freshness, the Swedish chain will only source Nordmann fir trees grown in Scotland for their stores throughout England and Scotland. However, IKEA Cardiff customers can dress a Christmas tree grown locally in Wales.

Plus, the trees come in a variety of sizes – with a maximum height of 170 cm – so it's easy to choose the best one for your scheme.

In a year that has seen IKEA become synonymous with sustainable living, it is perhaps unsurprising that the brand recommends recycling your tree when festivities conclude. They firstly suggest creating garden compost from the biodegradable branches.

However, if you're more of an urban gardener, they recommend handing the tree to the local community to ensure they're disposed of in a planet-friendly manner.

The trees are available in-store exclusively. Customers can redeem the voucher against a range of IKEA products from 10th January to 13th February 2022. Think of it as IKEA's way of wishing you a very happy new year.
